It’s all about the kids. I remember the time and energy my father put into my life as a child. He always wanted me to have a chance to be the best at “something.” As I went through different sports it became apparent somewhere along the way that golf was my passion.
Often I get the question, “How did you become a teacher of the game?” I don’t know if it was because of necessity, destiny, or simply because golf was my infatuation. I do know that helping a young person become the best player he or she can is very rewarding for me.
This page is dedicated to those youngsters who share the desire the world’s best players had at their age. I will do my best to relate to you what these kids are accomplishing on their way to achieving their goals.
We live in a society that wants to be rewarded immediately for its work. I think “immediate gratification” is the politically correct term. As all adults know, overnight success begins ten years earlier, and the only immediate gratification in life is one that takes a long time. There is no better game than golf to teach youngsters discipline, dedication, perseverance, and honesty. Golf is a game that is much more learned than taught. You can see the difference in a kid who has become accomplished at “something.”
Golf is my passion. Teaching is the vehicle I use for disseminating the information that has been given to me over the years. Youth who are “working smart” on their games today will be the champions of tomorrow. I hope you all enjoy this page and help the youngsters around you become the best they can be at “something” even if it is not golf. Remember one thing, mastery does not cost us a penny but pays us back ten fold. So scroll down and check out the achievements of some of the youngsters I’ve taught.
Good Luck,
V.J. |
